Homemade Barbeque Sauce – gluten free – vegan – so yum –

I’m finding new ways of cooking and new recipes that A loves. This is a sauce I’ve created to use for jackfruit “pulled pork”, but we put it on just about anything as its so yum!

Jackfruit “Pulled pork” in homemade Barbeque sauce

Homemade Barbeque Sauce

COURSE: CONDIMENT
PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES

COOK TIME: 20 MINUTES
TOTAL TIME: 30 MINUTES

SERVINGS: Makes 3 cups

INGREDIENTS

1 tbs Nuttlex
1 cup onion, diced small
1 tbs soy sauce
3 cloves of minced garlic
1 tsp cumin1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dry mustard powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
¼ tsp chili power
1 can crushed tomato
1 ½ cups vegetable stock
2 tbs balsamic vinegar
2 tbs maple syrup
3 tbs brown sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat butter in pan and fry onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil.

Turn down the heat, cover the pan and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Let cool slightly. Put all into a blender and blend until smooth.

Return ingredients to pan and bring to boil again to thicken a little more.
